Music & Worship
Discovering rhythm, expression and the joy of creating together. At Trinity Christian School, music invites students to develop their talents, express their creativity and experience the joy of performing together.
Music
-
At Trinity Christian School, music gives students an opportunity to discover their God-given abilities, develop confidence and experience the joy of creating together. Through singing, instrumental instruction, performance and music appreciation, students build musical skills while learning the value of discipline, collaboration and creative expression.
Music education supports the development of the whole student. It strengthens listening, memory, coordination and communication while encouraging students to persevere, contribute to a group and appreciate the unique gifts of others.
-
In the elementary years, students are introduced to the foundations of music through engaging in age-appropriate experiences. They explore rhythm, melody, movement, singing and musical expression while developing an appreciation for a variety of musical styles.
These early experiences encourage curiosity and give students a strong foundation for future musical learning. Opportunities to share what they have learned also help students become more comfortable performing in front of others.
Students in grades 3-4 are introduced to the recorder.
Students in grade 5 learn to play the ukulele.
-
As students enter the middle school years, they continue developing their musical knowledge, technical abilities and confidence. Music becomes an opportunity to pursue individual interests while learning how each person’s contribution strengthens the sound of the entire group.
Through classroom learning, rehearsals and performance opportunities, students practise responsibility, cooperation and perseverance. They are encouraged to take creative risks, refine their abilities and discover the satisfaction that comes from working toward a shared goal.
In grades 6 - 8 students learn a band instrument.
-
At the high school level, students are challenged to deepen their musical understanding and grow as confident performers. More advanced instruction and performance experiences encourage students to strengthen their technique, musical interpretation and ability to work collaboratively.
Whether students are preparing to pursue music beyond graduation or simply want to continue developing a lifelong appreciation for the arts, Trinity’s music program provides a meaningful place to create, contribute and belong.
-
At Trinity, music education extends beyond learning notes, rhythms and performance techniques. Students are encouraged to recognize creativity as a gift from God and to use their abilities with gratitude, humility and purpose.
Through music, students gain a greater appreciation for beauty, culture and creative expression while developing skills that support their academic, social and spiritual growth. Above all, they learn that their talents can be used to encourage others, strengthen community and glorify God.

Recorder instruction introduces younger students to melody, rhythm, music notation and ensemble playing. As students progress, orchestral experiences provide opportunities to develop instrumental skill, musical expression and an appreciation for performing as part of a larger ensemble.
Through band, worship, choir, theatre, production and media, orchestra and recorders, students strengthen their musical abilities, build confidence and learn the value of discipline and collaboration—all while using their gifts to honour God and inspire others. Trinity’s progressive music pathway introduces new opportunities as students advance, allowing them to explore their interests and expand their creative experiences from Grade 4 through high school.
