Grade 9 and Grade 10
As students enter Grade 9 and 10, they begin to take a deeper ownership of their learning, their faith, and their understanding of the world around them. These early high school years are an important time for students to ask meaningful questions such as: What is truth? What is my purpose? How should I live? How do I defend what I believe? Through a Biblical worldview, students are encouraged to think critically, engage thoughtfully with competing ideas, and grow in wisdom, discernment, and confidence. As they study Scripture, history, science, literature, and culture, students are equipped to understand their faith more deeply and apply it with clarity and conviction in everyday life.
All courses at Trinity follow the Ontario Curriculum and can be used towards the Ontario High School Diploma (OSSD). All our subjects are integrated with a Christian view of God and the world. Course offerings are subject to change from year to year, depending on interest. For an updated list of courses offered this year please refer to the school’s course calendar, or view our course selection sheets.
IGNITE AND LIVE GOD’S MISSION
Stand secure in who God says you are in Christ, and pursue your calling as part of His Kingdom.
GRADE 9
The Narrative of Scripture
Biblical Truths & Foundational Principles
-
Everything begins with the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (The Trinity). He spoke the universe into existence and continues to sustain it with His power and love. Every part of creation reflects His design and purpose.
-
The Bible tells one continuous story: God’s perfect creation, humanity’s fall into sin, God’s plan of redemption through Jesus, and the coming restoration of all things under His Kingdom, a Kingdom that has begun but is not yet complete.
-
Every promise in Scripture points to Jesus. He is the Saviour who fulfills God’s plan to rescue and renew the world, offering forgiveness, grace, and new life to all who believe.
-
God created us in his image with inherent value and worth to reflect His character. Our identity and purpose are rooted in Christ.
-
Scripture is more than an ancient book; it’s God’s living Word that reveals His heart, His truth, and His plan for the world. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the Bible guides us, teaches us, convicts us, and helps us grow in wisdom and faith.
GRADE 10
Understanding Worldviews
Biblical Truths & Foundational Principles
-
God calls us to live faithfully within the culture around us, engaging with it, serving in it, and shining light into it, without being shaped by its broken values. As followers of Jesus, we are meant to live differently, showing the world what truth, love, and integrity look like in action.Creation is intentional, which means life has meaning, boundaries, and dignity from its Maker.
-
God’s design for life is not restrictive but freeing. When we live according to His Word, loving God and loving others, we experience joy, peace, and purpose. True human flourishing happens when our lives align with God’s wisdom and His good design for creation. We weigh each origin story by evidence, coherence, and alignment with Scripture.
-
Truth is not just a concept; it’s a person. God Himself defines what is true, and everything He says and does flows from His perfect nature. To know the truth is to know Him. God reveals truth through His word and through His created world.
-
God’s character, purposes, and promises remain the same forever. In a world that constantly shifts, His unchanging nature gives us security, confidence, and hope. What God said was true yesterday, remains true today, and always will be.
Grade 11 and Grade 12
As students enter Grade 11 and 12, they are preparing for the important transition from high school into post-secondary education, careers, and adult life. These senior years challenge students to ask deeper questions such as: What has God called me to do? How can I lead with wisdom and integrity? How do I live faithfully in a changing world? How can I use my gifts to serve others?
Through a Biblical worldview, students are encouraged to think independently, communicate clearly, defend their beliefs with confidence, and make wise decisions about their future. As they grow academically, spiritually, and personally, students are equipped to graduate with purpose, conviction, and a strong foundation for life beyond Trinity.
IGNITE AND LIVE GOD’S MISSION
Stand secure in who God says you are in Christ, and pursue your calling as part of His Kingdom.
GRADE 11
Faith & Culture
Biblical Truths & Foundational Principles
-
Real transformation doesn’t come from self-improvement, success, or the world’s approval; it comes from Jesus. By His grace, we are made new; Christ changes how we think, live, and love, shaping us to reflect His character in every part of our lives.
-
Every believer has been called by Jesus to the Great Commission. We are commanded to share the hope of the gospel with others, walking alongside them, as we rely on the Holy Spirit to do the work of salvation.
-
God calls us to influence the world around us - preserving what is good, working towards what is right and just, and shining His light into places of darkness. We should reflect God’s Kingdom to the world through our words, actions, and attitudes.
-
Jesus summarized all of Scripture with these two commands. Loving God with our whole heart naturally overflows into loving others with compassion, patience, and grace. This kind of love changes communities and points people toward Christ.
-
Following Jesus isn’t always easy; it requires surrender. He calls us to deny ourselves, pick up our cross daily, and follow Him. Yet in giving up everything for Christ, we gain everything that truly matters: life, purpose, and eternal hope.
GRADE 12
Faith in Action
Biblical Truths & Foundational Principles
-
Faith isn’t passive; it’s a response. God invites us into a relationship with Him, and our lives are meant to reflect that calling. Our lives are to express gratitude and obedience to the One who first loved us.
-
Every believer has been given specific gifts, passions, and abilities to use for God’s purposes. When we serve Him with what He’s entrusted to us, we find joy, meaning, and fulfillment, while bringing glory to His name and blessing to others.
-
God has not left us to follow Him on our own. The Holy Spirit empowers, guides, and strengthens us to live with courage and conviction. Through the Spirit, we grow in wisdom, discernment, and love, equipped to live out God’s mission in the world.
-
The story of redemption is still unfolding, and God is at work through His people to bring renewal to all creation. God works through his people to bring about His Kingdom here on earth.
-
As followers of Jesus, we are called to stand firm with truth and grace, ready to share why we believe and where our hope comes from. Through respectful conversation and confident faith, we point others to the life and freedom found in Christ alone.
-
The Church is the family of God; a place of belonging, support, and encouragement where we walk together in faith and live out our calling side by side.
