Discover the story of Trinity Christian School and the defining moments that shaped our community. From the founding of Timothy Christian School in 1962 and Unity Christian High School in 1982 to their unification as Trinity Christian School in 2026, each milestone reflects generations of faith, vision and commitment to Christ-centred education.

Parents from the local Christian Reformed Church gathered for the first membership meeting to discuss the possibility of establishing a Christian school in Barrie.

Three-and-a-half acres of land were purchased at the end of a quiet lane leading to what was once known as the Ferris Farmstead.

Through much prayer, faith and vision, Timothy Christian Elementary School was officially given its name—marking the beginning of a new chapter for Christian education in Barrie.

A three-classroom school was built, officially opening its doors to 70 students in the fall of 1963.

As the school community grew, an additional classroom, hallway and office were built.

A new addition containing two classrooms was completed to accommodate increasing enrolment.

A new library and storage facility were built to support the expanding academic and operational needs of the school.

Unity Christian High School was established to provide students with the opportunity to continue their Christ-centred education throughout their high school years.

Timothy Christian School had doubled in size, leading to a major expansion that included a gymnasium, library, kitchen, all-purpose room, storage and electrical rooms, change rooms and washrooms. The school community also celebrated 25 years of Christian education.

The Lord blessed Timothy Christian School and Unity Christian School with significant growth and increased enrolment. During these years, the school developed into a culturally diverse, interdenominational Christian community welcoming families from throughout the region.

The doors officially opened at Timothy Christian School’s new Essa Road location. The school community marked this important milestone with a special Service of Dedication and Praise.

Timothy Christian School and Unity Christian High School united to form one complete Christian learning community. This historic milestone created the opportunity to provide Christ-centred education from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 under one school name and shared vision.
